Welcome to Sierra Composite Squadron 72’s Website

Civil Air Patrol is the auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force, founded December 1, 1941 only six days prior to the attack on Pearl Harbor. During WWII CAP pilots flew reconnaissance missions in search of German U-boats. By the end of the war CAP was responsible for 173 U-boat sightings, 2 confirmed sinking’s, and 244,600 mission hours. After the end of the war CAP refocused it’s missions from wartime operations to peacetime services. Cadet Programs, Aerospace Education, and Emergency Services are the cornerstone missions of CAP.

The Sierra Composite Squadron has been continually chartered since June 13, 1948 and are proud to be serving our communities in the Central Valley, California, and America over these years.

We’re always looking for new members to strengthen our squadron and our ability to achieve our missions for America.
